Model Boat Display, Sunday, May 4,  1-4 pm

On Sunday May 4, 2014 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, the Museum will be featuring a display of model boats of the Chesapeake Bay built by Tom Cosden. Tom is a local resident from Lothian. He began building models when he retired some 20 years ago. His first few were replicas of the hydroplanes that he was racing in the late 40’s and early 50’s. His work then focused on the progression of work boats on the Chesapeake Bay. His vast collection includes a Log Canoe, a Skipjack, a Bugeye and many other work boats used on the Bay. He even has his own replica of the Emma Giles --- the Emma Durm, named for his mother-in-law!
Stop by for some refreshments and visit with Tom who will be on hand to answer questions.
