July 4th
Celebration, Parade
Enjoy your celebration of American
independence!
Parade - 2PM
If you remember last year’s
parade you will be glad to know that again Sue Hines is organizing
the parade. This will celebrate our country’s 232nd birthday. As it
did last year, the parade will start at 2 PM on July 4th. The parade
will follow the same route as previous years. Line up on Anchors
Way, proceed down Main Street to East Benning.
“For this year’s Fourth of July
Parade,” said Sue, “let’s present the true heart of Galesville – its
people, families, clubs, organizations and businesses. We need
everyone to participate.”
Some of the people of
Galesville have participated but, this year; family groups are
invited to march (or ride) in the parade. We are asking groups to
carry identifying signs, such as, “The Jones Family.” This will
allow the old and the new families to get to know and appreciate
each other.
Of course, we welcome the
participation of many groups that are not located in Galesville. We
enjoy having the horses, fire engines, antique cars and tractors,
color guard, history floats, politicians, etc. from other
communities around our historical area.
Get in the spirit and help
commemorate our country’s 232nd birthday. Start planning now to help
make this year’s parade the best one ever!
Let us know how you plan to
will participate. Contact Sue Hines at 410-867-3541, or email:
