Galesville
Heritage Society Docents Good question, and we have some really good examples for the answer. A docent is an explainer, and a teacher. Our docents sometimes make the first impression of Galesville to our visitors at the Galesville Heritage Museum. Docents are informed about the history of our area, with interesting stories to share and educate our visitors on the collections within the museum. They are willing to give up a few hours on Sunday afternoons to be at the museum, making sure the lights are one, dust is gone and a broad smile is on their face. Docent is not just a “ladies” job, we have several men that have stepped up to the task and bring another point of view to the job at hand. We welcome anyone who is interested in bringing our corner of history to life on Sunday afternoons. Docents enjoy what they do because they are enthusiastic about our village and want to keep our heritage alive. Won’t you join us to share your knowledge and enthusiasm?
